The Opera House has already parted ways with its fine dining star, Guillaume Brahimi, now we hear one of the big crowd-pleasing names in the complex has also headed for the exit.

Signage for rice-paper roll empress misschu has disappeared in recent weeks at Harbour Kitchen, and word down at the people's House is a legal battle could be brewing between misschu owner Nahji Chu and the operators of Opera Kitchen.

A misschu spokesperson confirmed it was no longer supplying product at Opera Kitchen, but neither Chu nor Opera Kitchen's David Wallace were available for comment.

Opera Kitchen's neighbour, Opera Bar, finally came up for grabs last week.

It is expected to be a battle of Sydney's hospitality heavyweights with Justin Hemmes, Fraser Short and the Keystone Group, along with a couple of long-odds outsiders such as publican Ben May, being in a position to challenge the powerful incumbent, the joint force of the Solotel and Aria teams.

It's a big test for the Opera House, which needs to find a replacement for the tenant-less Bennelong site after Melbourne's Stokehouse pulled out.
