More chocolate
Max Brenner is opening another Canberra store, this time in the Nishi building in the NewActon neighbourhood, in the foyer just outside Palace Electric. Construction has just begun and the store is slated to open its doors in mid-June. This will be the third Max Brenner in the capital. There are already stores in Belconnen Westfield and at the Kingston Foreshore.

Instagram love
This very cute picture popped up on Penny University’s Instagram last week – it looks like fashion designer Alex Perry dropped into the Kingston cafe for a cup of coffee and a snack, and stayed for a photo with owner Effie Kochinos. Perry also posted a comment on the picture, praising, among other things, the "amazing staff, amazing coffee and the best blueberry muffins."

Kingston changes
The European in Kingston has changed hands again. Danny Tosolini took over the restaurant in the Griffin Hotel late last year, after its previous incarnation, Artespresso, went under. He has now sold it on. The new owners are Ziba Esen and husband Erkin, who worked as chef at Ottoman with Serif Kaya for 10 years. Ziba Esen says the restaurant was the first place she and Erkin went out for lunch when they first arrived in Canberra. "We always liked this location and when it came up for offer it was just like it was meant to be." It opened last Thursday and Ziba Esen says the new menu is modern Oz with a Mediterranean twist. Danny Tosolini says he will take a short break and then focus his energies on a makeover for the family restaurant Tosolini’s. "It hasn't changed for the past 10 years, and it's time," he told us.
