Did you know that in 1860s, Melbourne's Cafe de Paris was an international cocktail hotspot? Or that the sherry cobbler (dry sherry, citrus peel, sugar and lots of ice) was the goldrush-era tipple of choice?

Award-winning bartender and history buff Sebastian Raeburn will be imparting cocktail pearls like these during walking tours of Melbourne bars. The first tour ($145 a head) takes place on Saturday, January 25.
