After its successful opening in Surry Hills and an airport venue on the way, MoVida's expansion from Melbourne to Sydney is now poised to join the city push.

MoVida owner-chef Frank Camorra has been linked with so many sites in recent months, he has become the Where's Wally of the Sydney restaurant game.

According to Twitter, he was touring the old digs of the Grand Pacific Blue Room on Oxford Street.

''I don't even know where the Grand Pacific Blue Room is,'' he says.

His name has also been linked with the exciting Casba development on Danks Street in Waterloo. Camorra says he looked at plans for the site but his next stop will be Sydney's city centre, probably the northern end.

''When we first looked up here, the city was a real no go,'' he says.

''But it's changed, it's more like Melbourne. We want to open there in about a year. It won't be large; something in the style of MoVida Next Door.''
