Merivale's Mr. Wong already has the best all-round dumpling selection in Sydney and now the two-hatted Cantonese restaurant is serving its delicious parcels of pork as part of a weekend yum cha menu.

The yum cha at Mr. Wong's launches October 4 and will be available from 10.30am to midday every Saturday and Sunday.

Mr. Wong's dumpling master Eric Koh will be serving the likes of abalone, snow crab and white rice bamboo rolls ($15 for two pieces), steamed barbecue pork buns ($9.80 for three), and scallop and prawn shumai ($12 for three).

"Yum cha is my passion," says Koh. "I have always loved going to yum cha, even as a little boy. I learnt how to make dim sum from the masters and I love continuing their teachings."

Don't expect your prawn toast with foie gras and almonds ($12) to be served from a traditional yum cha trolley though.

"You simply order whatever you like straight from our dim sum menu, says Koh. "This allows us to create each and every dish fresh so that the texture and presentation are always perfect."
