The Civic Hotel on Pitt Street is set for another Greek injection, with a couple of My Kitchen Rules contestants rebooting the legacy of Peter and Eleni Conistis.

The mother and son team put The Civic on the food map, but with Conistis now up the road at Alpha, it's the turn of twins Helena and Vikki Moursellas to try and make the pub hum.

The pair, who went deep into the MKR contest last season, have just released a book of Greek recipes, Taking You Home.

The Civic's owner, Jim Kospetas, says Civic Bistro by Helena and Vikki is slated to open around Greek Easter, in mid-April.

It won't be straight-up Greek food, with Kospetas describing the draft menu as "Aussie gastro pub food with a Greek twist".

Designer Jeremy Bull [The Morrison] will create the space while Tona Inthavong, a seasoned restaurateur who operates Green Peppercorn upstairs at The Civic, will collaborate on the venture with the restaurant rookies.
