Australia's most-feted chef is already flipping burgers, but Neil Perry could be about to fix his sights on a new challenge: Korean barbecue.

Perry, who recently opened The Burger Project, has been linked with a site across the road from Rockpool, on Bridge Street in the city.

"I've spoken to them about it [opening a Korean restaurant there], but Burger Project has broken me, I'm retiring," Perry quips. The chef has had a long-term fascination with Korean food and has been drawn to the idea of rebooting it in the same way he has done with Chinese at Spice Temple.

Good Food hears the Bridge Street Korean concept is advanced enough to have had plans drawn up, but Perry insists nothing is happening. Guess we'll have to wait and see how the kimchi comes along.
