Don't discount Neil Perry opening a Korean restaurant, but the veteran chef continues to dismiss rumours he'll open it this year on Bridge Street in the CBD.

Word on the street suggested Perry was headed to 6 Bridge Street, the lodgment of a DA by Greg Magree, the property magnate who has found homes for Fratelli Fresh and Porteno.

Perry says he looked at the site and has seriously toyed with opening a Korean restaurant but wants to focus this year on rolling out more Burger Project outlets.

"We've had lots of approaches to do more, so that's the priority," he says.

Fraser Short has also dumped plans to expand on Bridge Street, where he toyed with opening a 270-seat restaurant at Liner House.
