New cafe for South Bank

Natascha Mirosch

Ironically it opened without much hoo-ha this week. Owners of South Brisbane's newest cafe (and soon-to-be bar), Hoo Ha, are three friends; Anthony Lindenmayer, Mike Slatter and Declan Law.

"We came up with the idea about five years ago to create a space that was easygoing and relaxed; a neighbourhood cafe and bar that sold decent products at reasonable prices," Lindenmayer says.

The trio have yet to acquire their liquor license but when they do will be offering wine, spirits and cocktails with a "small list done well," according to Lindenmayer.

“We want to make if affordable enough so that people come in a few times a week.”

Currently open from 7am to 3pm, the cafe-style food is made by the boys themselves. Once a liquor license is in place, the menu will be supplemented by cured meat platters and cheese boards.

Hoo Ha Bar is at 41 Tribune St, South Bank.
