With the opening of their wine bar Bacaro earlier this year, the Trimboli family brought a taste of aperitivo culture to their diners. It's the art of the pre-dinner drink and a traditional nibble (antipasti or the Venetian cicchetti) to whet the appetite before moving on to a proper Italian meal. You buy a drink and you get a little complimentary dish of something on the side.

Now they're taking it a step further with a month of aperitivo at Bacaro, which is tucked behind the bustling Italian and Sons in Braddon.

Every Friday until the end of October, diners who buy a Negroni or a Campari or Aperol spritzer will get an afternoon of antipasti and cicchetti to tempt their appetite before they move on to dinner.

It's being launched officially on Wednesday, September 23, with Campari, Cinzano and Aperol ambassador Jordan Berger. The aperitivo evenings kick off on Friday, September 25 and run until October 30.
