New head chef at Sarti

City Italian stalwart Sarti has a new head chef. Paolo Masciopinto replaces Riccardo Momesso, who is leaving to open a Calabrian restaurant in Hawksburn. Masciopinto, who worked at Sarti as sous chef from 2009-10, was most recently head chef at North Melbourne's Sosta Cucina. He starts his latest role on March 12, with a new menu by April. Co-owner Joe Mammone says there will be ''some changes to the menu, but we're committed to the concept of a bistro-style Italian eatery and wine bar''.
