New Manly Pavilion operators to be announced

Manly Pavilion is a saga of epic proportions, even in a town graced with spectacular restaurant implosions. Arguably the best restaurant location in Manly, it has sat empty empty for nearly four years after being placed in liquidation, last year entering a drawn-out tender process.

Good Food can reveal an announcement of the new operator is expected in the next three weeks and Miramare Gardens hotel and event venue in Sydney's north is poised to get the nod. It is rumoured that an Italian chef from one of Sydney's best restaurants is in line to helm the kitchen.

In a deal believed to have more confidentiality agreements than a job as a nanny to a Hollywood Star, all parties have been tight-lipped. But late last year a spokesperson for Roads and Maritime Services confirmed receiver Grant Thornton had "identified a preferred replacement tenant for the remaining term of the 25-year lease".
