New West End 'depo'

Natascha Mirosch

Brisbane's West End has always done things a little differently, and it sounds as if its newest restaurant, Depo, due to open in May, is intent on following that tradition. They're playing their cards very close to their chests, but with designer Alexander Lotersztain (Limes Hotel, Alfred & Constance) involved, we're pretty confident Depo in Horan Street is going to be something remarkable.

Offering a "collaborative approach" and "playing host to events, functions and art shows", the plan is to be open for coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as offering a bar for seasonally inspired cocktails or a glass of wine. Guillaume Bersweiler (ex-Augustine's) will be part of the kitchen team, offering a seasonal and daily changing menu designed by owner, chef (and speciality bike shop owner) Erik van Genderen. The focus: European cuisine. Stay tuned.
