With Paddington's backstreet pubs awash with fine dining chefs and Oxford Street now sprinkled with a little gold dust from Merivale and the Mary's crew (the Paddington and Unicorn Hotel), it's time Glenmore Road received a little TLC.

The Village Inn, which controversially banned high-vis workwear last year after a fancy refurb, is handing over operation of the pub to the Parlour Group, which also counts Riley Street Garage and Surly's in its portfolio. Parlour Group chief Brody Petersen has put the menu in the hands of executive chef Regan Porteous. Major menu change won't come until next month, with Petersen describing the new pitch as "simple, fresh and in theme with an old world gastropub".
