Qantas coup: Neil Perry's Christmas pudding.
Neil Perry, restaurateur and consulting Qantas chef, is making a special Christmas pudding for the airline's Frequent Flyers.
There are 10 million members in Australia alone, which is a lot of pud. Perry has developed the recipe with Roger Barstow, of Rockpool Consulting, who works on the Qantas menus with him. "The Christmas pudding is a combination of ourmums' recipes," Perry says. "It's a delicious and very traditional pudding, using suet - sorry, vegetarians - and brilliant Australian fruit."
The puddings, which are best served with brandy creme anglaise, ice-cream or whipped brandy cream, are available from Perry's restaurants, Rockpool Bar and Grill, Spice Temple and Rosetta Ristorante in Melbourne for $29.99. They weigh in at 500 grams and serve four.
