What would a couple of reality TV contest winners do with their prize money? Open a restaurant at Bondi Beach, of course.

It turns out Ryan Ginns (Big Brother) and Nathan Jolliffe (The Amazing Race) have more than just TV experience, Jolliffe having previously opened bars and Ginns a onetime design co-ordinator at The Grounds of Alexandria.

They'll have plenty of help at Luis Tans, a 120-seater opening next month between Campbell Parade and Gould Street. Partners in the restaurant include Raul Gonzales (Backroom, Potts Point) and Shane Moran (Ruby Rabbit).

Venezuelan chef Alejandro Franco Lancini will turn out a high-wire menu of Latin American with Asian influence. If that sounds precarious, the interior is "inspired" by a 1960s Peruvian hustler who "married the daughter of one of Japan's biggest crime leaders". Sounds like quite a brief.
