Eastern-suburb oenophiles are finally getting a little rub in an area increasingly obsessed by the coffee bean. Russell Beard, highly credentialled in caffeine circles for his part in the success of Reuben Hills and Paramount Coffee Project, has a mix of caffeine and vino in his sights with a new Bondi Beach venture. Snapping up Sensory Lab on Hall Street and renaming it Bondi Hall, Beard and business partner Mark Dundon from Seven Seeds plan to open a wine store later this year. "It'll be coffee during the day and a wine store at the back," Beard says. "Wines with a small run. We're not wine professionals, but I love it and I'm interested."

Zetland quaffers will also have added reason to shuffle to the Prince Wine Store. In early July it'll open its own wine bar. Danielle Rensonnet, Danielle Rensonnet, head chef of the Prince's wine bar in Melbourne, is reported to be responsible for overseeing the Sydney menu.
