Judging by the care he's taking with the furniture, cutlery and crockery, the food at Ryan Flaherty's kitchen table at Mister Jennings will be quite something. Flaherty has enlisted friends to help him make the table from ancient timber and brass, and has imported Ton chairs from the Czech Republic, trawled the internet for unique cutlery, and sourced plates from mentors such as Shannon Bennett, George Calombaris and Heston Blumenthal.

And then there's the food. The menu will take up to six guests on a 12-to-15 course tour of Flaherty's career, which has landed him at El Bulli and the Arzak lab in Spain, the Fat Duck in England, Estelle in Northcote, and now to his own place in Richmond.

Flaherty hopes to have the invitation-only kitchen table operating on Friday and Saturday nights from September. From their comfortably padded seats, guests will be able to watch Flaherty and co simultaneously cooking their three-star menu and delivering boudin blanc dagwood dogs and flathead with caper butter to the main dining room.
