Boy, that was quick. Only a couple of months after Nu Suandokmai's name hit the headlines, garnering several reviews for his part in the opening of Senyai restaurant in the city centre, the talented chef has departed.

Suandokmai, who earned his Sydney stripes at Nu's in McMahons Point, has apparently taken flight back to the north shore.

Gavin Tuckwell, owner of Neutral Bay's Hayes Street Wharf, confirmed Suandokmai started work in his kitchen last week. But don't expect Thai food; Suandokmai is cooking modern French, a cuisine he has dabbled with in the past.

Suandokmai sold Nu's last year and its new owner has renamed it Kinn Dining and Bar.
