Slow Food feast at the convent

Local food catering group Bursaria Fine Foods will dish up a feast of goodies all sourced within 150km of Melbourne this weekend.

Local food catering group Bursaria Fine Foods will dish up a feast of goodies all sourced within 150km of Melbourne this weekend to help kick-off the city's annual Food and Wine Festival. The lunch, to be held Sunday at the Abbotsford Convent, will include Warialda Belted Galloways beef and Yarra Valley Salmon caviar and will be matched with wines from the Studley Park Vineyard, located within cooee of the convent on the banks of the Yarra.

The event has been designed to promote the Convent’s monthly Slow Food market and will feature talks from Alison Peake, the president of Slow Food Melbourne, and Maggie Maguire, chief executive of the Abbotsford Convent, a supporter of many non-profit enterprises with an artistic and community bent.
