Burger-crazy Sydney is already home to the lasagne burger, the ramen burger and Adriano Zumbo's burger pie. But has the city jumped the shark burger with its latest offering, the Spam burger?

Cinta Rockey, owner of new Darlinghurst venue Bloody Mary's, believes spam has its place on Sydney's burger register.

"It's one of those guilty pleasures. Some people think it's a bit weird eating meat from a can. It's little bit out there and crazy, but it's just fun and playful," she says.

Describing the taste as "a burger crossed with a bacon-and-egg roll", Rockey is pushing the food boundaries.

"The other day we were experimenting with deep-fried Oreos," she says. Her passion for bloody marys is obvious with the drinks list. The Victoria Road venue doesn't serve tomato juice out of the can – they make it fresh.
