Superstar chef Tetsuya Wakuda is heading to Canberra on Monday, March 16 - but unless you're one of a handful of lucky corporate guests or an extremely lucky volunteer, you won't be able to see him cook.

Wakuda will be in town to give a cooking demonstration at a private corporate event at 3 Seeds cooking school in Fyshwick Markets.

3 Seeds owners, Andrew and Catherine Haskins, will play host to the international celebrity chef and are looking for a couple of volunteers to help with the event.

The volunteers will be drawn from their list of cooking school customers who have signed up to receive their email newsletter.

He brought high end Japanese cuisine with French techniques to Australia in the form of his three-hatted restaurant Tetsuya's in Sydney's CBD.

His delicate fine dining sensibilities also helped put the nation on the world gastronomical map - Tetsuya's was ranked in the San Pellegrino list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants for nine years.

He's since expanded with a restaurant in Singapore, Waku Ghin, which came in at number nine on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2015 list earlier this week.
