Sydney can be relied on for two things: regular restaurant openings and the chef hot-shoe shuffle.

New York-themed The Hudson is on track to swing open its doors this week down at King Street Wharf, while Paul McGrath, the talented chef who went to work as the private cook for businessman John Symond when Ortolan on Bayswater closed, is back in the restaurant game. McGrath has jumped in at Brasserie Ananas, the newish restaurant at The Rocks, which has changed chefs like some places change menus.

And Selah Restaurant has a new chef. Andrew Barkham will relocate next week from Melbourne, where we has been working at The Point. Before that he worked in the kitchen of British chef Gary Rhodes at his flagship London eatery Rhodes 24.
