Astrid y Gaston rocketed up to No. 14 at the recently announced World's 50 Best Restaurant awards; Sydneysiders are soon to get a taste of its head chef's cooking without travelling to Peru.

Astrid y Gaston head chef Diego Munoz will jump in the kitchen at Rockpool on August 2.

Munoz will knock out a six-course dinner with Rockpool head chef Phil Wood and co-owner Neil Perry.

Tickets are $400 a person (including wine), with all proceeds headed to food rescue organisation OzHarvest.
