When will Sydney's restaurant building boom end?

Not any time soon, with a rash of new openings. There's a bit of everything.

Chippendale got in on the act last week with the overdue opening of Ester Restaurant and Bar.

It is a case of more, more, more in Alexandria, where the latest instalment from Fratelli Fresh will open at the former Buckland Hotel site next Saturday.

Franco Franco opens on Thursday at the former site of Caffe Sicilia on Crown Street, with one-time Lo Studio chef Francesco Armillis in the kitchen.

The Bentley Restaurant and Bar crew is keen to open a French bistro at the former Yellow Bistro digs, and even the old places are getting in on the act: Surry Hills' Emmilou is opening Bar Lou Lou where Moog hotel's swimming pool used to be.

Burgers also remain hot, with Giant Design responsible for Kirribilli's new Batch Burgers & Espresso.

Giant will also design Chui Lee Luk's new Chow eatery, opening in a few months in Surry Hills, but fans of American diners will love the Batch fitout.
