Sydney food emporium Salt Meats Cheese is set to open on the Gold Coast in July.

According to Salt Meats Cheese co-director Stefano de Blasi, the 200-square metre store at the new 4217 development in Surfers Paradise will be modelled on the Sydney store, which opened in an Alexandria warehouse in 2011.

"Salt Meats Cheese has found an ideal home at The 4217 in the heart of Surfers Paradise," de Blasi says. "This new hub is all about enhancing the lifestyle of locals and offering tourists a taste of home. It's not just an Italian deli. We pull together local artisan ingredients with hard-to-find products from Spain, Italy and South America."

Queensland Salt Meats Cheese franchisees are Alessandro Vicinanza and Korine Skinner. Vicinanza had previously managed the meat room in the Alexandria store. The Queensland store will feature a dedicated cheese and meat room, with imported and local cheeses as well as a selection of charcuterie and, as the name suggests, artisan salts. As well as the deli range, there will be a range of eat-in options from wood-fired pizza to fresh pasta and salad.

As with the Sydney original, the Surfers store will feature a roster of cooking classes, where customers can learn a range of kitchen skills from how to butcher meat to pizza- and pasta-making.

Salt Meats Cheese is slated to open in early July at 10 Beach Road, Surfers Paradise.
