Fed up with wasting valuable time by having to write the names of Mexican foods using old-fashioned letters?

Calm down. It's all right. Everything's going to be OK. Taco and burrito emojis are coming to iPhones.

A bunch of new emojis were approved by the Unicode icon overlords in July, but we didn't know if or when they would make their way onto our smartphones (it's up to the developers of each operating system to choose if they adopt new Unicode characters).

According to The Next Web, the new emojis have been released on a beta version of iOS 9.1 for developers to test. For iPhone-using foodies there's a taco, burrito (with no shortage of guacamole), cheese wedge, popcorn, champagne bottle and hotdog. A low-fat emoji meal it is not.

Among the new emojis is also a crab, proud turkey, an empty plate with a knife and fork, and a very cute squirrel hoarding a nut.

Apple has not announced a specific release date for iOS 9.1 although it's expected to be available to the public later in the year. No word yet on when Android users get to pop their champagne emoji cork.
