Rose Creek Estate, Melbourne's own olive grove in Keilor East, is holding its seventh annual open day on August 25.

The Siciliano family planted the 400 olive trees on their land in 1981, added another 100 in 1998 and produce olive oil and wine - they grow chardonnay, semillon and shiraz among other varieties - and their hard work will be available for tasting and buying from 11am to 4pm.

Lina says she plans to hold a locally made sausage sizzle ''if the weather is good''.
