Brace yourself for a smackdown of spicy proportions, Melbourne. A fierce curry competition of small and vicious proportions is coming to the Brunswick Bowling Club on Friday, February 20.

Who will rule? Melbourne's own loose-lipped Yorkshire terrier Matt Wilkinson, of Pope Joan, or Ben Greeno, of Momofuku Seiobo, the Sydney upstart who comes with the seal of approval from David Chang. Or perhaps you'll pick the unlikely hero, talented sugar bandit Darren Purchese, of Burch and Purchese Sweet Studio?

Entry is $54 plus booking fee, which gets you each chef's curry (none of which will be vegetarian - sorry, meat-abstainers), soft-serve by Pope Joan, plus an iced tea cocktail and barefoot bowls. Bollywood beats will be provided by DJ Manchild. Smack talk is free, and pretty much guaranteed from the three talented English expats.

Curry Smackdown, Brunswick Bowling Club, Friday, February 20, 6pm-7.30pm. Tickets available here.
