Sydneysiders will be heading to our rooftops in 2015. The latest group to take the lift to the top floor include some of the partners from steamy-hot Sydney's ventures The Lobo Plantation and The Island, who are in negotiations to take the rooftop site at Westfield Sydney. The massive outdoor space, perched in the CBD skyline, was originally slated to be operated by Matt Moran and Peter Sullivan, who were advanced with plans but pulled the pin on the project in early 2012. Sydney has been slow to jump on the rooftop trend, which has swept the world (including The Standard in New York, pictured) and is perfect for our climate.

Good Food hears the Westfield deal will kick off with a pop-up and become permanent if successful. Merivale's Coogee Pavilion Rooftop is sure to be one of the hottest venues in town when it opens later this month, joining new entrants to the market, including the rooftop at the InterContinental in Double Bay, which has its own pool and a controversial $250 minimum spend after midday for each customer.
