Boundary-pushing CBD basement restaurant Brooks is holding a 'Meet the Maker' dinner on Tuesday, July 8.

For $150, five courses will be matched with wines from up and coming young Victorian winemakers.

Brooks' aptly named sommelier, Matt Brooke, is getting in on the action and showcasing his own label, Athletes of Wine.

Dishes include a starter of egg and corn, and a rice cracker with Vegemite. To finish, gatecrasher Tasmanian vodka Fire Drum will be shaken into an espresso martini, matched with a plate of pork, artichokes, chocolate and hazelnuts.

Tuesday, July 8, 6.30pm, Brooks, Basement 115-117 Collins Street, Melbourne, 9001 8755, brooksofmelbourne.com.
