Wine masterclass to take a tour through history

Between them they have 1200 years of wine making experience across 16 vineyards and 48 generations. They are also custodians of more than 5500 hectares of the country's finest vineyards.

On Monday it'll be hard to move in Brisbane without running into some of the best known names in Australian contemporary wine making.

For the first time, the collective group 'Australia's First Families of Wine', boasting surnames like Henschke, McWilliam, Tyrell, Taylor and DeBortoli, will be in to Brisbane to tell the stories of wine making history in Australia.

Wine buffs will be happy to know they're bringing with them plenty of wines generously plucked from their own cellars and will talk about the about the stories behind these icons.

Then, the next generation of wine royalty will talk about future direction of the families' wine making. Unlocked, presented by Australia's First Families of Wine, is on at the Hilton on Monday June 3 from 6.30pm. Details: affwunlocked.com.
