Woolworths recalls pies that may contain glass

Woolworths is urgently recalling a range of its chicken and vegetable pies amid fears they may contain glass.

The grocery giant warned its customers on Thursday not to eat its Woolworths Select Chicken & Vegetable Pie four packs sold in its stores from April 14 this year with a best-before date ranging from October 9 to October 10 next year.

"Woolworths is recalling this product as it may contain glass and may pose a health risk if consumed," a statement from the company said.

"Consumers should return the product to their nearest Woolworths or Safeway Supermarket for a full refund."

Those people who have eaten the pies and have concerns for their health should seek medical advice, the statement advised.

No other products were affected by the recall, the company said.
