Upcoming local chefs and waiters have their chance to work at the Sydney version of Noma, the Copenhagen restaurant that has topped the World's 50 Best Restaurants list four times. A call out for interest was recently put out on Noma's social media, with chef and Norma co-owner Rene Redzepi also alerting his followers to seek out the opportunity.

"The program will provide aspiring chefs and waiters with an opportunity to learn from our head chef, sous chefs and front of house team, and will contribute towards the satisfaction of their tertiary qualification," says a statement on Noma's website.

Only chefs and waiters enrolled in a Diploma of Hospitality through Australia's Restaurant and Catering Association will be eligible to participate in the 11-week placement program.

Successful applicants will join the original team of 35 chefs and 30 waiters who are temporarily relocating to Sydney from Copenhagen for the Australian pop-up version of the restaurant, which will be at Barangaroo.

They'll be serving a total of 5,600 eager diners, from late January to early April, at one of the most intensely anticipated openings of 2016 – the bookings page for Noma Sydney received 84,000 hits per minute when it went live in October.
