Brisbane Good Food Month 2015: What's on July 18-24

There's no chance of going hungry this week with plenty of events to sate the fiercest of appetites and quench the driest of thirsts. Festival director Natascha Mirosch shares her highlights.

My Country My Cuisine – An Afternoon with the Stars, July 18, 4pm, Cinema B, Gallery of Modern Art, Stanley Place, South Brisbane

Starring Ben Shewry of Melbourne's three-hatted Attica, James Viles of the double-hatted Biota Dining in NSW, and Josh Lopez of GOMA Restaurant, and hosted by 612 ABC radio presenter Tim Cox, the trio of chefs will tackle the age-old question: is there such a thing as Australian cuisine?

'Truffle Truffle', 'Living Risotto', 'The Duck Pond' – the dish names suggest this will be no ordinary dinner. We've managed to entice chef of the much lauded NSW restaurant Biota Dining, James Viles, to town for a collaborative dinner with GOMA chef, and Brisbane Times Good Food Guide 2016 Chef of the Year, Josh Lopez. The pair will present a eight-course meal plus appetisers ($169), with a focus on produce from the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, matched with Yalumba wine. Night Noodle Markets, South Bank, July 22-August 2

You can stop waiting Brisbane, the much anticipated Night Noodle Markets kick off at South Bank's cultural forecourt on Wednesday. Enjoy an outdoor party vibe with music, entertainment and more than 25 stalls serving Asian dishes from some of Brisbane's best restaurants, including the popular Longtime, Madame Wuu and Sake.
