Brisbane food lovers might want to get out their diaries and adjust their belt a notch or two during July. Good Food Month, presented by Citi, is coming to Brisbane.

The well-established food festival has been a regular event in Sydney for more than 15 years and was launched to great success in Melbourne last year. The full program of events for Brisbane will be unveiled this weekend.

City-wide and regionally, there will be more than 150 food themed events throughout July; from good value weekday breakfasts to late-night suppers and everything in between, says national Good Food Month director, Joanna Savill.

“We're thrilled to be bringing Good Food Month to Queensland; to be able to showcase the wonderful culinary scene here. And it's not just about fine dining - while there are some exclusive experiences to be had, there's something for everyone; from free events to family-friendly celebrations.”

One of the most anticipated is The Night Noodle markets. Over 11 nights, from July 17-27, some of Brisbane's favourite eateries will be at the South Bank cultural forecourt for Asian themed markets, dishing up everything from charcoal grilled yakitori sticks to gyoza; steaming bowls of Vietnamese pho and ramen noodles, as well as desserts. Entry is free and as well as good food, there'll be loads of atmosphere with themed bars and entertainment.

Good Food Month also gives Brisbane's hatted restaurants the chance to mix it up, with one-off dinners including contemporary Australian Brent's in Toowong going Korean, Japanese favourite Sake doing Vietnamese, and Public putting on a paleo dinner.

Other events to watch out for include a Great Gatsby themed dinner featuring vintage champagne, a Venetian "sensory" dinner with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, a food photography exhibition, and classes in everything from sake making to Thai curries.

Food lovers with champagne tastes but beer budgets won't miss out either, with plenty of great value options, including weekday breakfasts with a coffee or tea for $20; a Tanqueray cocktail and bar snack for $20 through 'Bar Hop', while 'Let's do Lunch' offers the chance to eat at some of Brisbane's best restaurants all through July for just $38, including a glass of a Yalumba wine, Coopers Beer, or a S. Pellegrino sparkling or Acqua Panna still mineral water, plus tea or coffee.

Good Food Month starts on July 1 and finishes on July 31. The full Good Food Month program will be available on Sunday June 8 in the Sun Herald (South East QLD edition) or online at brisbane.goodfoodmonth.com.
