What's on: Brisbane Good Food month July 8-10

One week down, three to go.

Good Food Month is well and truly underway in Brisbane. Some events are sold-out but there's plenty still on offer to plan a tasty week. Here are some of the highlights over the next few days:

Tastes of Spain, July 8, 7pm - 9.30pm, Peasant, 61 Petrie Terrace, Paddington
Grab some mates and head to Peasant for a traditional Spanish feast ($85) as part of the World Dinners series of events. Tapas like pimientos de padron (fried peppers) will be served banquet style alongside matched Spanish wines.

Pig and Pinot, July 8-12, 6pm - 9pm, lab bar + restaurant, 142 George Street, Brisbane
Pinot is the drop of choice at The Lab Bar at the Treasury hotel, paired with a pork assiette. Choose a glass of pinot gris or pinot noir to pair with crispy-skin pork belly ($26-$42).

Street Food instant expert class, July 9, 9am - 3pm, COTAH, 66 Ernest Street, South Brisbane
Learn how to cook street food from a range of different cultures from the experts at the College of Tourism & Hospitality ($135).

Bacchus Vine and Wine, July 9, 5.30pm - 6.30pm, Rydges South Bank, Corner of Grey and Glenelg Streets, South Bank
Some things in life are free, like the Bacchus Vine and Wine event. Learn from chef Mark Penna about the science of curing meat and try some house-cured duck breast and kingfish matched to a range of Yalumba wines.

From Paddock to Forrest, July 9, 5.30pm - 9pm, The Foraging Quail, 148B Merthyr Road, New Farm
Dine at one of Brisbane's hottest new restaurants, The Foraging Quail, with an eight-course degustation featuring South Australian saltbush lamb with young veggies and olive soil, and whole roasted spatchcock with truffles, wood mushrooms and truffle jus. Finish with seven textures of chocolate ($130 including matched wines).

Bitter and the Feast, July 10, 7pm-10pm, Bitter Suite, corner Welsby and Lamington Streets, New Farm
Learn about beer and food matching at Bitter Suite. The kitchen team is pairing specially chosen local ingredients and refining their techniques to create five perfectly matched dishes with a different beer style ($95). Their brief is to use an ingredient and a technique they haven't used before.

Pho Sake, July 10, 6.30pm - 10pm, Sake, Level 1, 45 Eagle Street Pier, Brisbane
The team at one hatted Sake restaurant are temporarily leaving Japan for Vietnam, with a six-course feast of Vietnamese specialities ($79).

Alchemy Elements, July 10, 6.30pm - 11pm, Alchemy Restaurant, 175 Eagle Street, Brisbane
Riverside, and with gorgeous bridge views, Alchemy is presenting a dinner based on the elements - earth, wind, fire and water - including matched wines ($88).
