Yotam Ottolenghi is coming to Brisbane. The Israeli-born, London-based chef, TV host and restaurateur, whose cookbooks with writing partner and fellow Jerusalem native Sami Tamimi gave millions a taste of the modern Middle East, will front an intimate lunch at Brisbane's Gerard's Bistro in late October.

In Australia for Good Food Month, presented by Citi, in Sydney and Melbourne, Ottolenghi will make a flying visit to Brisbane on October 30 to talk about his latest book Plenty More while diners sit down to a Middle Eastern lunch prepared by the Gerard's team.

Gerard's head chef Ben Williamson said he was "honoured and privileged" to welcome Ottolenghi to Gerard's.

"I've been a long-time fan of Yotam Ottolenghi and the work he is doing, not only for the cuisine of the Levant, but for food culture as a whole," he said.

"His work has always inspired us at Gerard's Bistro and continues to do so. Everything he does comes from the heart, which is so important when it comes to Middle Eastern cuisine."

Tickets cost $175 and include a welcome drink and appetiser, a Q&A with Ottolenghi, a shared main course with Yalumba wine, dessert and coffee or tea; as well as a signed copy of Ottolenghi's Plenty More (RRP$49.95). Details: http://brisbanetimesgoodfoodmonth2014ottolenghi.floktu.com/
