A few weeks ago the Carlton Wine Room changed hands and briefly shut down for renovations. The multi-level bar and dining space is open again, with added elegance, a new menu and changes to the liquid offerings. The setting is dominated by warm light, wood and stylish fittings. Patrons can choose from ground floor, upstairs or outdoor seating and there is also a secret staircase behind the bar that leads down to the cellar room - a dimly lit dining space surrounded by wine. Aside from the myriad wine choices, the bar offers several international and Australian beers and spirits, and a cocktail list that includes the Bellini a la Fi, a take on the popular peach and Prosecco cocktail with the addition of Campari.
The Carlton Wine Room and restaurant in Melbourne is open again.
