Breakfast degustation at Pod Food

A degustation? For breakfast? Those aren't two words that often go together but this is the very reason that this particular experience at Pod Food is a little special. On weekends, $40 will get you a four course breakfast degustation of a combination of sweet and savoury dishes. Picture warm, fluffy pancakes and the creamiest of scrambled eggs given the fine dining treatment with a drizzling of a puree here and a shaving of truffle there. Delicious food and delightful surrounds make this a lavish breakfast experience worth getting out of bed for.

Truffle weekends at Mount Majura

While there are many drudgeries associated with winter, the arrival of truffle season is one of the positives. There are many truffle season dining options to choose from but the truffled brie and wine flights at Mount Majura Vineyard are winter indulgence at its best. On certain weekends in July and August, $30 will get you an oozy, gooey delicious serving of truffled brie along with a flight of three wines (about 80ml each) to match the cheese. This is seasonal local produce – the truffles come from French Black Truffles of Canberra and the cheese is from the Small Cow Farm at Robertson in the NSW southern highlands. Sit back, enjoy some wines, indulge in creamy brie with lashings of truffles and think to yourself that winter isn’t so bad after all.
