A dining favourite with many of the city’s powerbrokers, Machiavelli Ristorante has been caught in the net of the New South Wales Food Authority’s name and shame list.

The restaurant has been hit with two $880 fines, one for failing to maintain the food premises to the required standard of cleanliness, and the second related to the cleanliness of its fixtures and equipment.

Another on the name and shame list is Le Kiosk restaurant in Manly, slugged $880 for not maintaining the required standard of cleanliness.

The long-term direction of Le Kiosk is up in the air, with tenders to operate the restaurant closing last week.

Those tipped as interested in the business include the owners of Aria restaurant.
