De Bortoli's Sacred Hill wines are often absolute bargains. This is a case in point, a light, clean wine with an appetising mix of tropical and citrus-accented fruit, succulent balance and a sustained dry finish. (Screw cap; 12 per cent alcohol.)

From McWilliams' Yarra outpost, this pale chardonnay has appealing aromas of citrus, white peach, creme fraiche and a hint of smoky oak. It combines good depth with tangy freshness and a lingering mealy finish. (Screw cap; 13 per cent alcohol.)

A gorgeous maturing Hunter semillon with aromas of lemon, laundry soap, linseed and lanolin. It's savoury and full of interest. A toasty thread of bottle age doesn't impact freshness, and the plump, succulent palate has a lingering finish carried by zesty acidity. (Screw cap; 11 per cent alcohol.)
