Coco Pops has always been a cult favourite, but now the just-like-a-chocolate-milkshake-only-crunchy cereal has gone up in the glam stakes.

At her secret Australian wedding last weekend, Hollywood star Margot Robbie reportedly served up bowls of the chocolate treat with the traditional milk and, weirdly, cream.

Australian media have been going nuts over the Suicide Squad star's wedding to long-time boyfriend, Tom Ackerley, a British director, which was rumoured to be held on New South Wales northern coast. Reports have been fuelled by a social media post by Ackerley's brother at Newrybar favourite Harvest restaurant, and a secret source that claims pizza and barbecue were also on the menu for wedding guests.

It's not the first time Coco Pops has made headlines this year: Gelato Messina served up a special gelato flavour in March; Surry Hills cafe Kawa hosted a cereal pop-up, complete with Coco Pops hot chocolate, in April; and we also covered Melbourne's Mork Chocolate Brew House adding a delicious Coco Pops-inspired breakfast to its indulgent menu.

It's the first wedding-related appearance that we know of, however. It's not quite as unusual at country singer Miranda Lambert serving a deer that she hunted herself for her wedding to Blake Shelton, or as elaborate as Liza Minnelli's 12-tier wedding cake as part of her $4.2 million wedding to David Gest, but much easier to replicate for non-celebrity types.

We predict we'll be seeing way more Coco Pops hysteria in 2017.
