French$$$

A mini Eiffel Tower stuck on the roof could be considered un peu outre but C'est Bon carries it off with true Gallic panache. It's the only real nod to flamboyance; otherwise everything is kept to a winning recipe of simplicity and tradition. Never travelling far from the tried and tested road of classic French cuisine, you're likely to find entrees such as the lavishly garlicky escargots de Bourgogne (don't even think about getting romantic afterwards) and a silky duck liver parfait, while mains cover the usual French bistro standards; coq au vin (chicken and red wine stew) and lapin a la moutarde (rabbit in mustard and porcini sauce with roast potatoes, which will linger in memory long after your visit). Desserts, too, stick with tradition but throw in a little 'ooh la la' - think tarte tartin served with black sambuca ice-cream, chocolate mousse with espresso cream. Service is efficient and dignified in that uniquely French fashion. C'est bon? Oui, oui!
