Lure Seafood Restaurant

12.5/20

Seafood$$$

The world outside seems miles away while dining in Lure's elegant, timber and white space. Let's begin with the mixed sashimi plate with fine slices of yellowfin tuna, king salmon and scallop, sticky rice, pickled daikon and an outstanding wakame salad, lively with sesame notes. The wine list is host to seafood-friendly wines by the bottle or glass, and wait staff are happy to weigh in on wine-matching and menu queries. A sure hand at the burners has coral trout emerging from kitchen to dining room with a light champagne veloute. Ditto for king salmon, surrounded by Lure's take on nicoise salad with the egg component being of quail persuasion. While seafood is belle of the ball, there are alternatives for those with an aversion to things piscine. The grand finale to a most enjoyable meal is wobbly buttermilk panna cotta surrounded by sweet strawberry consomme.
