Dinknesh Lucy

Dinknesh is a restaurant of many colours, starting with the cheerful orange dining room. There's always a warm welcome, and, if you're lucky, there's a minty minced lamb consomme, mildly spiced and buttery, cooking out back. Combination plates sample the hearty home-style menu and include tangy injera or rice, and seven dishes. There's tender diced beef, fiery with berbere and garlic, an equally spicy lentil-based version and a soothing earthy braise of potatoes and beetroot. Dinknesh Lucy gets lively some Friday and Saturday nights when there are lots of bookings and they bring on the live music and dancing.
