Fabulous Fine Food

If you're lucky enough to call this lively whitewashed dining room your local, you'll need no convincing that Fabulous Fine Food does indeed do fabulous in spades. Eager-to-please waiters and huge shopfront windows overlooking a sleepy shopping strip add to the charm. As does the food from the open kitchen. Chef Anthony Green and his team tick plenty of boxes with globetrotting flavours. Feel-good entrees might include 'popcorn' tiger prawns with zingy kaffir lime aioli and coriander, or a dainty chicken, leek and herb pie with buttery puff pastry shell and moreish tomato and mustard seed relish. Mains may include grilled lamb loin that arrives with buttery mash and fragrant thyme jus, risotto with baby peas and ribbons of leek, or miso-glazed salmon with Asian slaw. Apple tarte tatin, crowned by a dollop of rich white-chocolate parfait and pistachio praline, is too fabulous for words.
