The queue for tables at this factory-boiler-room-turned-cafe shows that those who are serious about coffee (served six ways), top nosh and a buzzy atmosphere are prepared to wait. Squish up at a shared table and peruse the dog-eared clipboard menu for all-day breakfast, which might be a tempting stack of fluffy ricotta hotcakes, swimming in golden-brown mandarin sauce with mascarpone, dark chocolate fudge and hazelnuts. At lunch, a salad of roasted baby beets, rocket, goat's cheese and wattleseed dukkah is good, but even more satisfying might be a heart-stopping pork belly sandwich with smoked paprika relish and aioli; at least you'll die happy.
