Richmond folk must have wondered if they'd ever see the local cafe gem that is every inner-Melburnian's birthright - then Sarah Masry opened this bright corner store in mid-2011. In an open room with a low-key Nordic-pale fitout, those locals now enjoy a thoughtful one-page menu of breakfast and lunch bites. Pot-set yoghurt might come with just-cooked batons of rhubarb and a generous sprinkle of granola, while a brunchy dish of bacon hash with smashed peas and a poached egg is a perfect mix of crisp, creamy, porky and minty. Coffee keeps it local, with beans from Brunswick's Wide Open Road roastery.
