Cafe$$
Housed in a former bank, this light-flooded cafe can feel almost meditative thanks to its ascetic, Nordic flair with muted tones and blond wood. Deviously, that's part of the plan to ensure that the focus is on the food. All-day breakfasts include inch-thick omelettes, bejewelled corn and coriander fritters, and twists on texture such as crumbed poached eggs. The lunch menu centres on big flavours with lamb pies, chicken burgers and Black Angus steak sandwiches, but there are softer, more refined dishes too: spaghetti tossed with seared king prawns or roast pumpkin and pearl barley salad.
